Ethernet cables are an essential part of the network environment. Ethernet cables help connect routers, switches, computers, etc. They are an alternative to Wi-Fi.
Why would I have an Ethernet Connection
- Ethernet connections have Higher speeds as compared to WiFi or Wireless internet
- Ethernet or Cable connection have a lower latency as compared to WiFi and this greatly affects real-time streaming. Gamers would find this fact more important to note
- Wired connections are less prone to interference. They provide a stable and reliable connection.
But since cables are not perfect. Here are some cons;
- Bulky. Cable connections are usually bulky and hence problematic to have around
- Inconvenience. Cables are inconveniencing due to the length limit, obstructions among others. Cables can not easily be connected to portable de\vices easily
